Trip to Tampa Bay

My trip was amazing to Tampa Bay Florida. Not only was I having fun with family, but we also had fun in the kitchen and around the table too. The first night for dinner we had home made fried chicken which is kind of funny since my father’s grandmother made fried chicken it was the first time in 15 years ago that anybody had homemade fried chicken. It was amazing because he breaded it then let it absorb the breading so it got extra crisp. In the breading he put flour and salt and pepper, when he fried it he put the least amount of oil so it doesn’t soak up the grease and the oil like a sponge.

Once it finished cooking and turned brown he put it in a huge bowl and put paper towel over it so it dries and crisp the crust but kept chicken moist. Science of cooking, with putting the paper towel over it allows the chicken to steam which creates the moister in to the which  it dries out the crust but because the moister goes to the inside it keeps  the chicken moist on the inside. Next I’m going to tell you about chicken parmigiana  for 11 people and it was really fun because I was doing it with my dads cousin.

It was really fun because there was a lot of things we did the same and a lot different, the first thing that was different was I was cooking 24 cutlets! besides that was the only thing different with the chicken. What was really different is we added shallots  and garlic and a lot of spices to the sauce, also we had to do four times the recipe than usual. Other wise it was really cool because she can’t eat gluten so because I use  corn flakes it was the first time she had ever had it. It was just all around a great family trip with other family but it was cool to learn some new tricks and family recipes.
